Rin and the Wind Chimes

On windy evenings, the glass chime on Rin’s balcony always sang one clear note. Tonight it rang a wobbly, worried sound. Then a ribbon of silver light curled around the railing. It was the evening wind, and for once Rin could see it.

The ribbon brushed her sleeve as softly as a feather and drifted down toward the garden. It stopped by the old plum tree and waited, glowing. Rin understood. The wind needed help.
