Tomás and the Puddle Patrol

Rain drummed on every roof on the street. Tomás zipped up his yellow raincoat and jumped outside in his red boots.

Splash! He landed in a big puddle, and the puddle whispered, “Hello, Tomás.”

His neighbor Zola wheeled up in her purple wheelchair, its spokes flashing like little stars.

“Did that puddle just talk?” she asked.

Tomás grinned. “When I wear my raincoat, I can hear puddles!”

Zola raised her fist. “And I can spot patterns. Together, we are the Puddle Patrol!”
